| The Harford County Fire and Injury Prevention Committee sponsored its annual Miss Fire Prevention contest on Sunday November 1, 2009. Also competing for titles that day were Junior Miss, Little Miss and Little Fire Chief contestants. Miss and Junior Miss contestants were given a list of questions to study and were then interviewed privately by a panel of judges. They also competed on stage answering two questions in front of the audience. Master of Ceremonies, Richard Brooks, officiated the contest and helped to ease the jitters of some of the contestants. The 2010 Miss Fire Prevention is Heather Ely and her first runner up is Caity Lipscomb. Christy Polk was crowned 2010 Junior Miss Fire Prevention and her first runner up is Sabrina Wainwright.
The Little Miss and Little Fire Chief contestants were picked by a random drawing. Erika DeHaven and Kyle Cockerham were chosen as the 2010 ambassadors to serve Harford County. |
