THE HIGH SCHOOL CADET PROGRAM FOR THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR IS STARTING NOW !!
We currently have 9 Cadets enrolled, but we have extended the timeframe for accepting applications. We will be accepting applications of qualified students through the summer so if you know of any students that are interested, please have them apply ASAP!! All it takes is for the student or their parent to contact Ms. Donna Geisel at 410-638-3955 extension 102.
We have also created a Facebook page for the students to find us and learn more about our program. Please take a look at our page, it can be found under "Harford County High School Fire-Rescue-EMS Cadet Program". Keep in mind it is a "work in progress", let us know what you “Like” about our Facebook page.
Cadets will be attending Firefighting, Hazardous Materials, and Emergency Medical Services classes as well as participating in “In Station” days with additional specialized training held at various locations. Specialized training will cover items such as drafting theory and practical, visits to and from Harford County 911 Center, Harford County Hazardous Materials Team, and other Public Safety Agencies. Work through the summer will include meeting with each Cadet and reviewing what they already have or will need such as building access keys to firehouses, turnout gear, and sizing them for uniforms. We will be working with each Cadet obtaining necessary items.
